Workplace TB Testing in Los Angeles

Planning TB testing for your team? Contact The Flu Shot Guys with your workplace location, participation estimate and screening requirements so we can discuss the appropriate service and availability.

What does a TB test check?

Tests for tuberculosis infection include TB skin tests and TB blood tests. A positive result requires medical evaluation to determine whether someone has inactive TB or active TB disease. A test alone does not provide that diagnosis. Read CDC’s explanation of TB diagnosis.

Understand the scheduling difference

TB skin test

A skin test requires placement and a return visit for a trained healthcare worker to read it 48–72 hours later. Build both appointments into your plan. See CDC’s skin test guidance.

TB blood test

A blood test requires a blood sample and laboratory processing. It does not require a return visit to read a skin reaction; result timing depends on laboratory arrangements. Confirm which test methods we can arrange before scheduling.

Bring your requirements to the planning conversation

Tell us what prompted testing: an onboarding process, an employer screening program or a specific request from an organization. Requirements vary, so share the actual instructions rather than assuming one test fits every situation.

  • Required test method and any required forms.
  • Number of participants and your workplace city.
  • Your completion deadline and preferred appointment dates.
  • Access arrangements and availability for a return visit if needed.
  • Questions about results, documentation and follow-up.

TB testing questions

Is a TB test a vaccine?

No. Testing checks for TB infection; it is not a vaccination.

Can everyone finish in one visit?

A skin test needs a separate reading visit. A blood test needs laboratory processing, and additional medical evaluation may still be necessary.

Can you guarantee clearance by our deadline?

Confirm scheduling and documentation requirements before booking. A positive result or need for further evaluation can affect completion.

What are your minimum and prices?

Ask for a TB testing quote for your group and required test method. The 15-person minimum advertised for flu clinics does not establish a TB testing minimum.

Organize TB testing around your deadline

01

Collect the instructions

Identify the organization requesting testing and obtain its actual forms or instructions. Share the required test method and completion deadline in the planning discussion.

02

Schedule the right visits

If a skin test is planned, coordinate the placement and required reading appointment together. For a blood test, confirm the collection and result process.

03

Plan documentation

Ask how results will be provided and who should receive the required documentation. Leave time for further clinical evaluation if it is needed.

Use a practical employer planning checklist

Before choosing a date, identify which employees need screening, what the requesting organization requires and when documentation must be available. Do not assume a general wellness event meets a separate organization’s onboarding instructions. Have the clinic coordinator review your requested service and timetable before making commitments to employees.

For a workplace with multiple shifts, confirm that participants can attend any required return appointment. Provide an accessible space and clear arrival instructions. If someone cannot attend a planned visit, they should contact the clinical team about the appropriate next step rather than assume their process is complete.

Keep testing and administrative follow-up distinct

HR can track scheduling and the status of requested paperwork without deciding what a result means. Clinical interpretation and any additional evaluation should stay with the healthcare professional. Confirm the documentation process in advance so employees know how to obtain records and whom to contact with medical questions.

More planning questions

What if our organization requests a particular testing process?

Share the written instructions when you inquire. Confirm that the proposed service meets those instructions before booking.

Should we promise employees immediate clearance?

No. Testing, result interpretation and any further evaluation are separate steps. Confirm expected timing, but avoid guaranteeing a final outcome.

Can TB testing be coordinated with other services?

Ask the clinical team to review the requested services and timing together. Do not assume every combination can be scheduled without clinical review.
